Let me explain what SavvyJapan-Today.com really is—without overcomplicating it.
This site started with Japan as it's main focus, but it didn’t stay there. Over time, it naturally grew into something more global, because the people we work with live global lives. I’m Daniel TJ, and I’ve spent about 30 years living and working overseas. My longtime friend and professional partner, Michael Machida, has about 25 years of international experience and runs career search consulting through TheJEGroup!.
Between us, we’ve assisted global job hunters to live and work in locations like: Japan, Canada, Australia, England, the United States, New Zealand, Italy, Portugal, Malta, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, Norway, France & other locations we have reach. These aren’t just places people dream about—they’re places people actually move to, build careers in, and call home.
We created SavvyJapan-Today because most websites only talk about moving abroad in theory. They give facts and checklists, but they don’t explain what daily life really feels like. The small moments. The culture at work. The quiet wins. The confusing parts that no one warns you about.
We’ve lived those moments ourselves. Arriving in a new country without a strong network. Learning how meetings work. Understanding how people communicate—what’s said, what isn’t, and why it matters. Those experiences shape everything we write here.
